Owner, Coach, Friend

Bo Goergen is the man shown in the picture. He has been very helpful to our team. He has allowed us to bowl and practice at his bowling centers on Monday nights. He takes timeout of his busy schedule along with his brother Rick to coach us and help us become better bowlers. He has been a useful person to this team. He is known for breaking the 3 game series record at the National Tournament last year with a score of 862.

Team Leagues

Every Monday night our team practices in Midland at Northern Lanes which is shown in the picture above. We bowl in PBA Experience league to stay in shape for collegiate competition. After league has ended, we stay for a hour and practice as team every week.

Another Great Asset to the Team

The guy shown in the picture is Brian Waliczek. He was on the bowling team at Saginaw Valley in the early 1990s, and he was also a Rookie of the Year. He has been a great asset to this team because he is the owner of Kingpin Pro Shop in Bridgeport, Michigan. He allows us to come there to drill bowling balls and do the necessary work to our equipment to make them ready for competition.

My Collegiate Bowling Coach

This is my collegiate bowling coach. His name is Dan Dorion. He has been coaching at SVSU for quite some time. He has won 4 national championships. He has coached a numerous amount of good bowlers including last years College Bowler of the Year Dan MacLelland. He also coached Professional Rookie of the Year Bill O'Neill.

I found this video clip to be interesting as it was very motivational. This video contains speeches from movies that have been based on basketball. I use to play basketball until I decided to give it up after I broke my ankle my freshman year in high school.

Inspirational Movie

This is one of my favortie movies of all time. I think this is a great movie to show how anybody and everybody can get along. This made me feel as if you can do anything if you put your mind to it.

Our Practice House

By being a bowler on the Saginaw Valley State bowling team, we have been granted to privilege to practice at Stardust Lanes for FREE. The owner of the bowling center has offered us this opportunity because they have upgraded their facility. He thought this would be a good place for us to practice and prepare for tournaments and other competitions.
